Welcome to our family website.

This blog, which began as a therapeutic outlet during the wait for our daughter's arrival, morphed into a place to share feelings, ask for support, and flip through a virtual 'brag book' of photos. NOW, as we embark on our second adoption trek, please join us as we plan, pray, and travel again to the other side of the world to be united with the next piece of our family puzzle.

Peace & Blessings...Beth & Ron (and Hope too)

June 12, 2007

I don't have much to report from this day at all. Just like here this morning, I remember on this particular day in China (it was Tuesday) it was raining. I have only a few photos from this day and nothing written in my journal so I'm writing from memory. Anyone who was there with us...please feel free to add and fill in the details.

We had a low key free day. Ron and Gary were going to try geocaching, but it would have involved a taxi ride, huge language barrier, and venturing out in the storm. So, they decided that the couple virtual caches we found in Beijing satisfied their urges for this trip. We went out for some shopping between showers and picked up some final gifts. Ron also went on a mission for some new luggage since we could have more pieces and weight for the international flight home.

I think this may have been the day that we had to stay in our room for the morning until Tu called us to tell us all of our paperwork was in order for everything we needed the next day at the US Consulate.

Also on this night we thought we might have a pizza party in the hall, but that was poo poo'd by the attendant on the floor and we were sent into one of the Anderson's rooms to eat our dinner. The pizza was still delivered and it was nice to relax.

Here are a couple photos of Hope, Tayah and their new mommies. We were told that their foster families were neighbors so we hope they will always have a special bond.
Smile girls!

Now if we could just get both mommies to look...

Hope and Ava - These two win the prizes for the most hair in our group of girls. Their referral pictures showed some crazy do's. At least now their beautiful locks fall rather than stick straight up. :)

Here is a picture of the three of us in front of the waterfall at the White Swan. This was actually taken on our way to breakfast on the morning of the 13th. There will be a ton more of these in my post tomorrow, our final full day in China.

One final note - I can't believe Hope is turning two tomorrow. We just put her to bed and I'm quite certain that not much compares to the sweetness of hearing her say "Now I lay me...." Have a good night everyone!
