FOR NOW...I HAVE TO SHARE WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY MORNING AND THIS AFTERNOON.
Yesterday, Hope was playing with her magnetic ABCs on the easel. I was doing some dishes and breakfast clean-up when she came running up to me and said, "Mama! Here's my egg, Mama! My egg!" Guess what letter she had in her hand! E! I couldn't believe it! So, I went and sat down with her to watch her go through the letters. She pulled and A out of the bag and said "apple," picked a U and said "umbrella," and found an O and said "O." She also said what I though was "stuck" when she saw the S. I pointed to the K and said, "K is for kite." Hope's reply was, "Hoho has a kite, Mama." She's right! Hoho was sad because he couldn't fly his kite in the rain on Kai-lan. I was completely blown away. Hope has been doing ABC puzzles for months and they all have pictures that correspond with the letters. I had to call Grandma and Grandpa to find out what was under the S on their puzzle to find out Hope was saying "sock" not "stuck." :) I guess it is time to start teaching the letters.
So, Hope turned 2 and not only can she "read," she's blessed us with that sweet 3 word phrase all parents want to hear. To say that is a little misleading because Hope has been saying "I luf you," or "I wu woo," for many months, but always as a response. Today Hope initiated it! This afternoon Hope and I were having a tea party when she suddenly said, "Oh, it's good. I luf Mommy." Then she ran over to me for a hug and a kiss. Talk about a melting heart! Then tonight, Hope saw Daddy after work and gave him a hug while exclaiming, "I luf Daddy!"
Again, the blessings keep flowing.
Here are some of my favorite photos from before church on Sunday morning. Check out that haircut. Hope everyone is having a good week.
Hey - for those keeping track (Grandma), Hope's top right 2 yr. molar pushed through yesterday. She now has 2. YEA! Maybe we can have a break from constipation and prunes now before the next one. Does anyone else's little one get that way? I know most kids have really bad icky diapers, but not mine. She gets pretty unconfortable.

Oh my goodness, Beth!!! Hope looks like she's all grown up. I love the haircut. And how sweet that she told you she loved you!! It made my heart melt just reading that. Guess what?? It will never, ever stop melting your heart no matter how many times she says it:)
That's so fun about the letters, too. She's such a smart little girl. Teach her that M is for Melody and we'll be good to go. hehehe
Amazing! Isn't it fun seeing them learn?
Olivia says "wuf you mama, wuf you dada, wuf you Ruby" at night. It does make it extra special when they say it all on their own.
Oh yeah...love the haircut! That & her outfit make her look so much older!
