Waiting for everything....

Our guide, Lucia, had us whip right through everything. I don't know how she did it because it seemed like families were waiting, but we just walked right up to each room and got in right away.
First stop was Luke's visa photo.

Next was the ENT visit - It was rather comical watching the doctor check his hearing. She thought she was being stealthy I'm sure, but Luke doesn't miss a beat. He noticed her moving her arm to squeak the toy near his ears and of course he turned his head in her direction. I'm anxious to get him home and to an audiologist to really see what the status is.

From there, we went to the nurse's station for height and weight.

Lastly was the general examination. This was sort of funny as well. As I've said before, Luke will sit still for noone. I know the picture is blurry, but check out the mess as she's trying to measure his head.. Hahaha...

Her only comment to us was, "Oh Buddha belly. This boy likes to eat." :)
Yep!
So the rest of the day has been pretty quiet. We stopped at a supermarket and picked up some bread and peanut butter, some noodles, and some snacks. We are hoping to save some money by eating some meals in our room. Back at the hotel we wrapped up some paperwork for our consulate appointment on Monday. We also had someone come by and pick up our laundry. It will be nice to get some clean clothes for the rest of the week.
So tonight, I think we'll probably just take a stroll around the area here and see what there is to see. We talked about going to the island to see our friends and eat at Lucy's but that may wait until tomorrow. Hmmmm - I need to make a shopping list. :)
Prayers for today:
Luke - He still has a pretty deep cough and runny nose...though his temp was normal at the medical appointment this morning. We did give him a dose of Motrin this morning though.
Hope - She is sneezing a bit now too. Also, this "big sister" gig is hard. It is hard to know what is helpful and what is a job for Mom and Dad.
Ron and Me - Just pray that we remain healthy and rested so we can be the parents our children need us to be.
Thanks everyone! It will be morning when you all see this, so have a wonderful day!

Glad to hear all went well with Luke's medical exam. If you go to the island, and happen to stop by Judy's, tell her the Mathison's say hi. Judy and I have been emailing for the past four years. She was one of our favorite shop owners on the island and we hope to get back there some day to visit her again. Enjoy your time in Guangzhou. Prayers for all of you!
I derive great pleasure from reading your blog. What a Heut! Thank you, Beth and bless you all.
It was great to chat with you. Happy to hear the medical appointment is over and all is OK. Have a good sleep and a restful, peaceful, relaxing day tomorrow. Counting down. 5 more sleeps!!
Love,
MOM
I always enjoyed the medical exam and thought it was comical at times. When we brought Monika with to adopt with Katie and Jenny, we made certain things Monika "job", like getting the diaper, helping make the food/bottle/sippy cups (we actually gave it to them most of the time, once a while)...
