Hi everyone - this is my first time at the computer since we left Beijing. Hope is at my feet and we're borrowing some time on the laptop across the hall. Ron and I are having a pretty incredible experience. Who would have thought that when we started filling out paperwork two years ago, we were going to be matched with a daughter so perfect. She is just a joy! We are figuring out many things together. Hope is very much a Mommy's girl but is now tolerating some closeness from Daddy. He can even be on the bed playing together now. I can't leave the room at all though. I won't take a lot of time now, I just wanted to say "hello" and thank you all for the great comments and prayers. Ron has been printing out everything in the business center for me to read everyday. It is so special to have words from home.
About Hope -
-She is smiling more and more
-She has 8 teeth (has cut the most recent two since we've had her).
-She is in mostly 9 month clothes, but not for much longer.
-She is also in size 3 shoes and diapers now.
-She is totally experimenting with her voice and different sounds - more competition for cousin Mitchell in church. :)
-She sucks on her right thumb and index finger.
OK - it is way past nap time right now so gotta run. We love you! We are headed to Guangzhou tomorrow. Wish us luck on the flight.
Love and prayers - Beth

It's so good to hear from you! And thank you for the info about her clothing size. I'm sure we can find a few things to fill her closet with for when you come home.
We are keeping a very close eye on the blog for any new pics or info you have to share, it truly has been the highlight of our days...even my mom looks at it everyday!
Anyhow, we're so happy for you guys (can you believe it finally happened?) and we can't wait for you to come home and tell us all about your trip.
Brian wants to tell Ron "I got rid of your garbage today, but I couldn't find the printer. And there will be a ReMax sign in our yard on Saturday."
Take care, we love you, have a safe flight and enjoy the rest of your "alone" time with Hope.
Brian and Tami
p.s. is she walking at all?????
p.p.s. Ella is doing wonderfully, no need to worry, she is being very well taken care of. We are heading there now, we'll give her a kiss for you!
Good luck to you guys on the home stretch of your trip :-) We can't wait to meet everyone of the group with their new little ones.

Dear Beth and Ron,
We just got back from Bobby's graduation. We're enjoying some cheesecake and peach ice tea. It was in the gym because of a tornado watch. HOT, HOT, HOT. Everyone is so happy to see the photos of your darling daughter and the scenery around China. They all say hi.
Thanks for the info on Hope. We've been wondering about sizes, etc. Can't wait to see all of you.
Love,
MOM
Dear Ron and Beth...
Great post! Love to hear about what Hope is doing and what size she's wearing (after all, someone DOES have a 1st birthday coming up soon). Can't wait to hear her cute little voice...and give you guys big hugs.
Time to finish packing and head to bed. We're leaving early in the morning for Wisconsin Dells. A work/play trip compliments of Thrivent:)
Love you guys!
Mel
It is both calming and exciting to read your messages each day - it is a wonderful connection and comfort to know you are well. And absolutely delightful to see the photos of Hope! May God grant you safe travels on the home stretch!
Peace and love,
Colleen
So glad to hear more from mommy. Love to hear from Ron, but a mommy update was fun! Hope sounds just perfect and mom and dad sound like they have adjusted beautifully to parenthood. So excited for you. The students are all done with school here now and we are all packing up our offices, YEAH!! Can't wait to visit with you. Take care and know we are all thinking about you and praying for a "quiet" ride home on the plane. Love, MB
So nice to hear from you Beth! Even on summer vacation (woo hoo!) your site is the first one I check!!! Sounds like you are having some really good time to bond. I'm sure you're sick of hotels and would love to get into a routine here at home, but enjoy the time segregated from the rest of us that can't wait to bond with her too! She is an absolute doll. Love all the pictures you guys include. Ron, don't worry, she'll have you wrapped around her little finger faster than you can imagine! :) Safe travels to you! Now we're counting down 'gotcha days'! 5 more! Love, Jen
We are very glad to hear that everything is going good. Don't worry Ron, it will get better. Hope to see all THREE of you soon.
Love the Perrys

I can't tell you how excited I am for you three! What an amazing experience! Don't worry about Daddy being on the B team for now. That is not uncommon. Some day soon he will be the star player on the A team and Mommy will have a little B team time on the bench--That'll go on for the rest of your lives together!
Signs and language or not sounds like she communicates pretty clearly when she wants to!
I can't wait to see you all when you get home!
Peace,
Lynne
Thank you for the details. Hannah is getting ready for her birthday party. She is trying to call China to make sure Hope and Beth and Ron come. She doesn't quite understand why you can't be here. Hannah wants to add in her 2 cents.
