Welcome to our family website.

This blog, which began as a therapeutic outlet during the wait for our daughter's arrival, morphed into a place to share feelings, ask for support, and flip through a virtual 'brag book' of photos. NOW, as we embark on our second adoption trek, please join us as we plan, pray, and travel again to the other side of the world to be united with the next piece of our family puzzle.

Peace & Blessings...Beth & Ron (and Hope too)

One of the newest families in town

href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg68-66hXBTErzBfSQ-4UqRaTn2RRT-K3q_pqyZsHIh-QE2LWlp6tZKg_RzleNJ8ssWuqrPJRgHDODN9ee1R4gPIB7Ft7Zg-FEik-pkzUPfPIzgCRbWJ-PN9DsKlWpeCdzV89QN1IOp6n0/s1600-h/DSCF3605.JPG">
allow me to introduce the Heutmakers. as you know yesterday was gotcha day. today Hope officially joined our family through adoption.

We had a good night. After bath time there was a short snuggle and then off to sleep in the crib. Up at 1:30 for a little bottle and snuggle then back to sleep. Wake up time was at 5:30 a good nights sleep with all of the changes that have taken place.

Morning started the process over again with getting reacquainted. Only thing is that Hope discovered that wants mommy more for now. Daddy is ok especially when giving food. When giving food it is ok to be close and touch otherwise not so good. I know that she can't resist my charm forever.

We traveled a short drive to the Civil Affairs building to finalize the adoption. Hope traveled well and really enjoyed playing with the other children.

Civil Affairs

She seemed to have a great time on the rocking animal.

When we finished at the civil Affairs building promising to love and care for as our child, we went to see the notory for one more interview. luckily I was able to recall the year we were married. Short and sweet but hot and sticky also.

Back at the hotel now Hope had a bath and is now napping I think. I should go back and see how they are doing so I think I will. Bye

Good Morning,
4:34 AM in Baldwin.
Official. Yea!!!!!!!! We've been waiting so long to see this. Can't wait for you to bring her home.
Great Pictures again. We can't get enough. Love the dress, the red bow, the SMILE! And, of course love, love, love hearing everything about your journey.

And, I too, turn to your blog as soon as I'm up. Just love seeing you together as the family you've prayed for. Rest and return to us safely.

Welcome to the land of "no more just me" thinking! Now it will all be centered around littleHope. You keep us so well informed about your trip and I love that. I am tending to two teen grandchildren for a few days and that brings me back to what it used to be like with our kids.

You are now complete with Hope and she is a doll. I bet you never had so much fun picking out clothes and things for her as you do.

Hope to see you very soon. Remember, I am close by, so when you need a baby sitter---call!

Love,
Mlitz

Just me again. Like so many others, the first thing I do in the morning is check your blog. What a great, great picture. I even enlarged it so I could see everything close up (not that I can read the Chinese on the adoption papers or anything like that), but you guys are simply beautiful!! YEAH!! Thanks once again for making me smile.

Now a special message for Miss Hope: you are so loved already. Your Mommy and Daddy have been waiting for you for what seems like forever. And as they waited, those of us who love your Mommy and Daddy have waited, too. Lots of prayers were said that God would bring them exactly the child God wanted them to have...and He brought YOU into their lives. You are a very, very special little girl and we can't wait to meet you. You have a friend waiting anxioulsy here for you. The funny thing is that you and your friend have the same name. I promise that by the time you get home, Hope Brue will NOT be a biter. hehehe Anyway...you are a loved, precious child, Hope Heutmaker, and we love you!

Everyone have a wonderful day. Congratulations!! We're just thrilled beyond belief.

Love,
Mel

PS...I LOVE the dress that Hope is wearing!! Love it, love it, love it! I thought it was cute in the picture you posted prior to leaving for China. It's even MORE adorable on her! And the red bow. FUN!! I tried piggy tails in Hope's hair last week. They were out by the time we hit Baldwin. Oh well:)

Don't worry Ron, as soon as she figures out just how much Daddy's can't resist their lil girls pouty lip and batting eyelashes she will be on your lap getting what mommy won't give her! It doesn't take long for them to learn the game that gets us girls what we want from the special guys in our lives. I am just so happy for you that you have 2 SPECIAL ladies now! Enjoy them cuz when you get home you MUST share them with the rest of us. Love, Melissa Barg

Good morning!
Hooked on your blog:) Sitting here with Lucy and my coffee. She is banging on the keys and looking at the pictures. Maybe she is trying to set up her own play date with her new pal Hope.

Hope, so many people back here in the States are patiently waiting for you and your family to return home. You are loved! You've made your Mommy and Daddy so happy. There is a light in their eyes that wasn't there before. You put it there.

Ron and Beth, Congratulations! She was definitely worth the wait wasn't she? Did you ever think you could be THIS happy?

If you have a chance, tell us more about Hope. Is she walking, babbling, (I can see that she smiles!). I also can see that she likes toys and you mentioned playing with other children. Clue us in as you begins to learn more about her! I can't wait to hear your stories :)

Greetings,
I am so happy for you!!!!
When Heather showed me the photo Beth, and I saw your face, JOY is really the only word to describe it. So often I speak to the students about humanity and our place in it. I am so lucky when I get a chance to see joy and to see how you and your husband will change Hope's life and your own as you grow together. Sending you my sincere happiness for your new happiness and some 70 degree cool weather,,,,

How wonderful. Brings back many memories. Glenys is from Wuzhou, Guangxi. She rode that same green horse like Hope. Actually she fought off another child from that green horse. She also loved the balls, are they still there? Congrats on your newest family member. She is adorable.

Beth, Ron, and Hope...

So many emotions... I just haven't been able to comment since Gotcha Day, because I couldn't get these emotions to come out of my keyboard. That and it's hard to type when you can't see the screen. ;)

I'm sure that when Hope looks back on your journey, (thanks to the wonders of technology) she will feel the love that waited for her/waited with you and welcomed her into this extended "family".

We are honored that you have shared your journey with us.

I also want to agree with other comments that've been made in that God could not have chosen two more loving and devoted people to help Hope adjust to her new life and to grieve for her foster family. I pray that this transition is as easy as posible for all of you.

Now as to the three of you... You're daughter is absolutely adorable. You make such a beautiful family. It is so awesome to finally see the glow on your faces and twinkle in your eyes that only a child can bring.

We can't wait to meet Hope. Please, tickle her toes for me (if you haven't already worn them out). :)

Stay safe and healthy and hurry home!

Lisa H.

Hi guys,
Everyone in Surgery at Abbott has seen my our new niece now. All says how cute and great she is. Super busy at work tonight, but couldn't wait to see what's happening. All the girls were making me enlarge the pictures so that they could see the cutie pie better. Mitchell and Daddy still home with the pink eye. More fun to come with the kids!

I also wanted to tell you guys she is wearing the cutest outfits!!! It sure would be fun to have a girl to dress-up cute. Mitchell also, wanted to tell Uncle Ron that he and Daddy spent all day getting the boat ready. Get home soon!!!

So great to relive this. Looks like your pictures were taken in the same room where we got Rachael. It brings it all back and I wished time had just gone a little slower there. But you look as happy as we were.

So glad for you all. Best:

Matt
