So, we're home and having a great time. We've been pretty busy with family and we even went to church on Father's Day. Proud Papa wanted to show off a bit I think. Here are a couple of photos with Daddy and his girls enjoying his first Father's Day morning. Ron is such a great Dad. He has so much patience. Hope is warming up to him more and more. You should have seen how excited she was when he got home from work yesterday afternoon. She practically ran down the stairs (with me holding her hands of course).
We had a great weekend. The reception homecoming at the airport was so fun though Hope was a little overwhelmed. She doesn't quite understand all these people who love her so much. She is so lucky. Every day we see a bit more of her personality. She is STUBBORN and likes to be in charge, but she is also a soft and gentle girl who seems to be loving life and her new discoveries everyday. Speaking of new discoveries...check out the pool from Auntie Andria and Uncle Mark. This was a hit. We only went swimming once in China and Hope loved it so I'm thinking this gift will be well used this summer.

Another new discovery...the "horsie!" Hope got this birthday gift from Grandma and Grandpa Perry. They hunted it down for her after they saw the photo of her on the horse at the Civil Affairs Office in Nanning. She loves it! She'll get the idea of riding facing forward sometime soon I think. ;)
Finally, here are a couple of other photos from last night. We were playing with Aunt Tami and Uncle Brian and Hope was showing off her shades from our good friends Chris and Cheryl. She is just too cute. She was so funny with the glasses. She didn't really want to leave them on, but she would lean into whoever was holding them until they were on her face, then she'd take them off again. It was a great game. :)
Thanks for all the phone calls and welcome home messages everyone. Ron and I are so happy to be back (we're especially thankful for our own bed). We're planning now for a couple of days with just the three of us. Hope is going to the Dr. this afternoon for her "once over" and probably a few shots so we're spending the day just playing and making sure she knows we love her so when the pokes come later she won't hate us for too long. Then tomorrow will just be us again. We are trying to really make a strong attachment with Hope so she knows Mommy and Daddy as her primary care-givers. We've done a lot of reading and have been to seminars that helped us learn about the importance of early attachment. So, if we are limiting visits or asking for a little alone time with Hope for now, please understand and be patient with us. We'll be making the rounds soon.
Have a great week everyone. Enjoy the pix. Here are a couple more of her just being cute. ;)

Good Morning! Love all the pictures! She is just too adorable! Wish we could be there, we really miss you guys. Mark and I were singing that car song all the way home on Saturday...and just when I think it is out of my head...he plays the video. Well, I guess I should get to work...right after I show off a few pictures. Love you guys, hope to see you soon, Aunt Andria and Uncle Mark
Thanks for making my first few minutes at work a LOT more fun!
Chris will be excited about all of the pictures when he gets home. You guys are GREAT parents! It's so obvious even in the pictures! I'm glad that you are taking all the time you need to bond with this precious little girl!
ADORE the glasses! They are even cuter on her than I imagined! ;) Give her hugs and tell her we are so excited to meet her when she's ready.
Love you guys! (We're also glad that you got some good sleep. That has to make everything even better!)
I realized that I didn't put my name at the end of my comment. OOOPS! Must have still been thinking of how totally ADORABLE Hope is! ;)
Cheryl (And Chris)
Great pictures! Thanks for the update. Hope seems to be doing very well and looks so very happy! (And why wouldn't she be? She's got 2 of the best parents anyone could ask for!) Glad to hear everything is going well. We're anxious to see you all, but take your time. :)
Love you,
Tricia
Isn't that just like a grandparent to start the spoiling before the meeting. They hunted down the horse from pictures. That is so great. She is absolutely adorable.

Hi Beth, Ron and Hope-
What a wonderful journey this has been and how wonderful it is to follow all the updates. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. I am learning so much about your little angel just by following this journal! What an amazing experience! Hope is such a beautiful little girl and it was so refreshing seeing the video and seeing both of you in your element as parents...what an amazing and inspiring couple you are! We are so thrilled to meet Hope, of course, when you as a family are ready, just know that we are here to help! Take care and we love you guys and give Hope a huge hug for us...and take one for yourselves as well.
Love,
Jon and Denise
Hey you guys, I am loving the continued updates on the blog. Glad to hear you are taking your time with Hope, we are anxiously awaiting our first picnic in Baldwin with her but we can wait as long as you need. Just an FYI...I think Hope is going to LOVE Melissa and Rachel cuz we have a BIG pool and a REAL pony!! I see fun at the Barg's in the future. Take care and hugs to you all. MElissa
Yeah! It was so fun to have another update! And more pictures!!Such fun to have a peek into your life. I'm sure Hope will be a little overwhelmed with everyone so anxious to meet her. You're so wise to take this time to have some solid bonding happen. We'll try to be patient! How is she with Ella? And Ella with her? Have you noticed some jealousy on either part? Loved the pictures of both girls with Ron. He had a great smile! See you for sure on the 17th! Jen A
Thanks for sharing....love the pictures! Glad the adjustments are going well. Is she walking yet?
Blessings to you all.....Julie K
